With eyes downcast they walk right past
all the beauty that surrounds them.
With each step taken
their attention is elsewhere.
They look neither to their left or right, up or down.
There is no pause to their step to simply drink in all that surrounds and abounds.
So many things they miss.
So many things they never see.
So many things they cease to drink in through the senses,
busy as they are just putting one foot in front of the other.
Seeing but not observing.
Moving but not experiencing.
So much life and beauty missed.
