I think of all the textures in the world and wonder if we truly feel them…experience them…appreciate them.
The scratch of wool against the skin.
The bark of a tree.
The surface of a smooth stone.
The liquid-like granular feel of sand through the fingers or its annoying grate between the toes.
The skin of an orange.
The underside of a leaf.
A baby’s hair.
Crisp clean sheets.
The nape of a neck.
Crumbled crackers.
The petals of a flower.
Bricks
Velvet
Blades of grass.
Weathered wood.
How many things we touch without ever really feeling them.
I close my eyes and imagine these things.
